Recognising Excellence in Service Management
Each year, the itSMF Australia National Industry Awards celebrate the achievements of individuals and teams who are driving excellence, innovation and collaboration in Service Management across Australia. These awards recognise those who go beyond day-to-day delivery to create meaningful impact, advance best practice and inspire the boarder service management community.
Award Categories & Eligibility
Individual Awards
Nominations are open to members and non-members but must be nominated by a current member.
Nominees must be residents of Australia unless otherwise stated.
The majority of the completed project or activity must have been undertaken during the twelve months before the closing date for submissions (except for the Lifetime Contributor as these activities will have occurred over a 10+ year period).

The Service Management Emerging Professional of the Year is an individual who in their first 5 years of their Service Management career has demonstrated an outstanding level of achievement, ability and team support, and who also promises great potential for future success.

The Service Management Champion of the Year recognises an individual who has shown exemplary leadership, dedication, and innovation in advancing service management practices both within their own organisation and in the public sphere. Their contribution will be recognised by others for their commitment to drive positive change, fostering collaboration, championing the adoption of best practices to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.

The Service Management Lifetime Contribution is awarded to an individual who, over the course of their career, has made an outstanding and highly significant contribution within the Service Management domain and has been a great inspiration to the Service Management community. This award recognises consistent excellence across multiple projects over a sustained period and contribution to the advancement of the Service Management profession and fellow practitioners, as well as having established community respect.
Team Awards
The teamโs organisation must be a business entity with a registered office in Australia or be an Australian Government agency
The project or activity may be a discrete and separately managed phase of a larger service management programme of work.
The majority of the completed project or activity must have been undertaken during the twelve months prior to the closing date for submissions

The Service Management Project of the Year will be awarded to the organisation that has undertaken a service transformation project or resolved a significant service-related challenge within the past 12 months either independently or in collaboration with a service provider. The organisation will have made use of best practices, effective management, excellent stakeholder engagement and communication, resource optimisation and potentially adopted new or agile methodologies to successfully complete a project.

The Service Management Team of the Year will be awarded to the members of a team that have demonstrated exceptional implementation and execution of service management practices. The team will excel in delivering value to customers through effective and efficient processes, fostering continual improvement, innovation, collaboration and have achieved significant business benefits for their organisation, division or agency.

All the Team and Project of the Year nominations are eligible for this award. It is a Judges and Board members selected award. The Awards Judges consisting of the itSMFA State Branch Chairs will select 3 submissions from the Team and Project nominations that they believe represent excellence, innovation, inspirational service management leadership and/or resulted in significant business benefits. From these submissions the current itSMFA Board will vote for the submission that will become the itSMF Australia Board Team Excellence Award.

Submissions are welcomed from individuals, teams and organisations across Australia.
Nominations Close - 3 May 2026
All nominations must be submitted in full before the closing date.
Finalists Notified
Shortlisted finalists will be notified and announced via the itSMF Australia newsletter and website.
Winners Announced - May 2026
Winners are announced at the itSMF Australia Service Management Conference Gala Dinner.

To help itSMF Australia celebrate and promote our award nominees, all nominations must include the following:
Written Summary
A short paragraph (maximum 300 words) describing the reason for nomination, suitable for publication in award presentation material and the itSMF Bulletin.
Photograph
A team or individual photograph suitable for publication in award presentation material and the Bulletin.
Please note: Nominees do not need to be members of itSMF Australia, but must be nominated by a current member (or self-nominate as a current member). Nominees must be residents of Australia.
